It was created from a combination of the French tricolor and Pan-African colors. Blue represents hope and the sky, yellow signifies the Sahara Desert and the sun, and red stands for the sacrifice for independence.

The Chad flag emoji looks almost identical to the Romanian (🇷🇴) flag, often causing confusion. There's only a subtle difference in the shades of color. Because of this, it's an emoji with an interesting background, to the point that there have been diplomatic discussions between the two countries about changing the flag design.
